(almost) Wordless Wednesday: Comfort

Recently, the Hubs and I were host to a temporary house guest, Biscuit the Happy Hound. Though a very gentle pup and quite the old man (he’s 13), he was a bit restless in his new surroundings until he happened upon his familiar teddy bear from home. After he found it, it wasn’t long before he was snuggled in for a long nap in his temporary home away from home. Biscuit reminds me of myself. I love to travel, but...

Travel Style: Convertible & Transformer dresses

It’s finally May! As the summer travel season draws closer, visions of tropical adventures are starting to dance in my head. A question to consider that is nearly as important as where to go, is the question of what to pack! I like to travel on a tight budget, so a trip that requires buying a new wardrobe or expensive gear gets the boot in fairly short order. I tend to go light on clothing pieces and save room in...

It's in the bag!

I am always looking for creative ways to display my travel photos, maps and mementos. Over the years I’ve collected boxes of travel guides and street maps, as well as, memory cards full of pictures from various locales that I would, one day, love to have displayed properly. My girlfriends and I found ourselves in the ladies room trying to discretely juggle our lotions and potions with one hand while keeping those pesky faucet handles pressed down with the other. After struggling for nearly a half hour, we descended from the restroom with a bevy of wet bathroom...

Who says you can't take it with you?

While preparing for a year of volunteer travel, I am finding my current luggage to be lacking in the versatility department. Which is really sad considering the sheer volumes of luggage that I own. Okay maybe not volumes, but I do own nearly 10 pieces of luggage. Which may not seem like that much, especially, if it’s a set of premium designer high fashion luggage. Unfortunately, my luggage to date would more likely fall into the mish mash of old/new/department...

3 Inch Heels for the Journey

As I round up the packing for my upcoming RTW journey,  I am forced to leave behind prized belongings that I simply can’t take with me.  Due my tiny  budget for this trip of volunteer travel, I sadly will also have to leave behind many treasures that don’t belong to me and possibly never will, especially when you consider that they may not even be available a year from now.  A perfect example is this fabulous pair of pewter pumps...
