I'm so lucky! Its a Christmas Candy Overload.

There’s nothing like a trip to World Market to make me feel like a candy chompin’ kid again. It’s so cold out, plus its finals week, so I have been hunkering down with some of my Christmas favs from Germany. I used to love receiving a chocolate Advent calendar every year before Christmas. Most of the calendars that you buy start on December 1st, just to make it easy, and count down to December 25th. With every day, you patiently...

Be Brave! Join me in adoring Amsha

I recently watched a TEDtalk on how to start a movement. Maybe you’ve seen it. In the 3 minute talk, Derek Sivers proposes that while a movement does require the audaciousness of one person who is willing to get out there and get the ball rolling, — he uses a video of a shirtless dude dancing crazily in public to illustrate his point– one person, however, does not a movement make. He further illustrates that the actions of that one...

Sipping Japanese Choya in the Park

choya

It’s so awesome to finally begin to have a taste of spring outside! On my recent trip to World Market–my favorite store, of course– I was pleased to find that they have an alluring array of picnic-sized eats and drinks from all over the globe. And I do love eats and drinks! There among a bevy of dried Spanish chorizo, German cookies, French jams and bellinis were these lovely little bottles of Japanese Choya Wine with a bonus plum inside....

Like an elephant ride to India: my day shopping at World Market

It has been a while, so I was excited to get out to one of most favorite places to shop, World Market. Whenever I am there, I always find a gazillion things that I love… no, literally, a gazillion things. It did not hurt that it was buy one get one FREE coffee day. Seriously,  I would walk a mile in tight stilettos for their Sumatra and Costa Rican blends. While I was there, I decided to shop around to see if there was anything...

Luggage that speaks!… to me

This past week I was in JCP shopping for one of the amazing new LULU handbags that I wrote about here and I needed to take a detour to go to the little girls/big girls/powder/rest/room. While making a beeline through luggage, I nearly wet my pants in excitement when I bumped into this African print inspired confetti-colored marvel by Nigerian expat turned London designer, Duro Olowu. I am not kidding when I say, that this luggage literally spoke to me, urging me to take it home. The best...

Christkindl Market in Chicago: One of the Best Things Ever!

KRISTKINDLE-MARKET

Like “Bright paper packages tied up with string” Chicago’s annual German style Christkindl Market is definitely one of my most favorite things!   —There was once a cleverly written post living here until about 15 minutes ago, but I did sometime wrong and I just don’t have the heart to do it over again. Besides it’s Christmas Eve—- Happy Holidays anyway!...
