Global Art & Design: Do you…Etsy?

Nicho Virgen Mary by Keziah from Mexico

I have an etsy shop.

It’s currently empty… but I can say that I am a proud shop owner and I fully intend to stock it with lots of global travel inspired offerings sometime…soon.

Extra Long Nordic Mittens by Wollschnegge from Germany

I love etsy, it’s an awesome website for crafters, artisans and vintage lovers of all kinds to unite together in the world of buying and sellingness. I even have a few circles and manage to connect socially with others artists on the site from time to time.

Traditional Beaded Bracelet by Pachamamanativeart from Mexico

It is only recently that I realized that etsy has gone global. Or at least it has started to anyway.

I knew you could shop from countries outside of the U.S. but recently I have been pleased to find shops by artisans from Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Mexico, and Turkey. There are still some countries that are yet to be served, but I am sure that it is simply just a matter of time and logistics.

Vintage French Magazine sold by Petitbrocante from France

These days, you can find the same handmade, vintage and gastronomically pleasing items that you would find in tiny boutiques all around the globe without ever leaving your home. Who knows, maybe someone whose wares you have admired while on your travels in some distant land is selling etsy right now.

Think of the money you’ll save in flight costs.

You’ll never need to travel again, right? Just kidding.

Lemon Rolled Sutan Delight by ggbytech from Turkey

These Turkish Delights were so delightful looking I thought they deserved two photos.

Do you have an etsy shop, too?
